If you haven't read Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture", I suggest you do. I had to make a number of different appointments in various towns the other day. Without traveling beyond a 30 mile radius, I somehow managed to rack up 200 miles on my car. The trip seemed short and the day not long enough, somehow, due to the stories I was hearing on audiotape.
The Last Lecture is the inspiring, heart-wrenching true story of Randy Pausch, in his last months of life. He somehow pressed on through immensely difficult cancer treatments to leave a positive legacy for his children.
Visit Randy Pausch's website.
He speaks of achieving childhood dreams.
Randy's childhood dreams include:
Being in zero gravity
Playing in the NFL
Authoring an article in the World Book Encyclopedia
Being Captain Kirk
Winning stuffed animals
Being a Disney Imagineer
Those are huge dreams! But if you listen to his Last Lecture, or read his story, you can see how each of his dreams was achieved.
He is also the creator of the Alice project, which is a program that lets students create computer programming in a 3D environment. Storytelling Alice, is a program for kids. How cool that kids can learn to create their own computer programs so young. I haven't had time to look into it, but I definitely will.
I am inspired to think back to dreams I had when I was a child, and dreams that I still conjure up in my mind for the future. The possibilities are endless...
Listen to Randy's lecture.

Crafty Cards
A phenomenal past teacher of mine is retiring at the end of this year. I first met her in my undergraduate work, and had the pleasure of taking a few graduate classes with her as well. She is moving to be closer to her grandchildren, so I am excited for her..but she will be missed. These are some cards I made for her, and thought they ended up pretty darn cute.

Someday I'd like to be able to make sets of cards to sell. Until then, I'll keep my creativity flowing.

Go Green
With Earth Day celebrated recently, people tend to be in the "green" zone now. Although I am aware that this trend will fade, I wish that it wouldn't. I found this interesting "quiz" you can take (The Carbon Calculator) to Check your Carbon Footprint on the world.

Check it out and make some improvements to the way you live...we all can!
If you need some more motivation, these "Digital Divas" sure know how to inspire others to go green! Check it out!

I did it!
I've been wanting to create a blog for a long time now; but I couldn't quite decide what to create one about. I'm not sure how I'll use this site; as 'inspiration' is a general term, but I am definitely excited to start creating! Hopefully my ideas will, in turn, inspire someone else.
